Position Function:Facilitating SDE at a small parent led wholistic learning and therapy center that supports creativity, freedom and inclusive collaboration. ALC education model. This position requires focusing on 1 student, age 10 with high complexity special needs.
Position Responsibilities:• Review student assessments and study plan in order to understand functioning and needs of child• Assist student in all activities of daily living• Design and offer lessons that reflect knowledge of child development and SDE• Facilitate activities of the day (open the day / set intentions, work through cycles of intention, creation, reflection and sharing, close the day / gratitude circle)• Utilize a variety of academic and social activities to provide opportunity for use of Proloquo2go communication app• Reflect SDE knowledge to advise parents, teachers and therapists on how to appropriately adjust activities and environment• Complete billing invoices (1 per week)• Record measurable progress (blogs, portfolios, images, etc.)
Schedule:Our hours are 10am-4pm, 7 days per week. Please specify all days you are available.Minimum commitment: 4 hours per day, 4 days per weekOctober 1, 2019 start date
