Spend Summer in Pono

Pono is a democratic, outdoor learning center. Children spend the majority of their time outdoors in locations of their choice, in and around New York City. Learning is initiated and directed by the children, and teachers nurture and build upon the children's interests. Regular staff are available during the whole summer. Visiting teachers come twice every week from fields as diverse as carpentry, fashion, biology, chemistry, dance, history, and a variety of sports.
 
Camp runs from July 13–September 10, MondayThursday, 9am–2pm. Ages 5–10. $695 for one week; $1,850 for three weeks; $3,710 for six weeks; $5,560 for nine weeks. Traveling Group Seeks People to Meet and Stay With

They are looking for:
  • families, who do UNSCHOOLING and we could stay for some days/ a week  (July in the area of Missoula or Seattle)
  • families, who plan a road schooling trip between 16th august an 13th september in Washingston, California, Oregon or around Vancouver. we two an maybe an other familiy of two adults an two boys (9 & 7 years) would like to join.
  • Communities with new education an sustainable approach in Washingston, California, Oregon or around Vancouver

Gaia Democratic School offers Summer Camps

Gaia Democratic School will be offering camp options this summer for students ages six to sixteen.  Topics include art, theater, mythology, gardening, wizardry and more. Gaia offers eight weeks of morning and afternoon camp as well as extended care starting the week of June 29 and running through August 21.  Drop-in and daily options are also available by arrangement.  Registration is open now and early registration prices are in effect through April 10.


Gaia is currently accepting applications for the 2015 – 2016 school year and offers year-round enrollment.


Gaia Democratic School is a nonprofit, independent, private school located near downtown Minneapolis.  Gaia is Minnesota’s only democratic school and offers K-12 Grade students individualized programs in a small, supportive, fun learning environment.
