Second Start Alternative High School is seeking an engaging and commanding certified classroom teacher to teach in a special education setting for the 2020-21 school year.
A strong candidate will be willing to teach multiple subject areas using a competency-based model that eliminates time as a factor and who embraces engagement with cross-curricular instruction and project-based assessment. Additional ideal characteristics are possessing large amounts of both humor and patience as our students are frequently frustrated and often frustrating.
Our approach is to help previously unsuccessful high school students find their path to being better learners and making a successful transition to life after school. Earning their diploma is just one step along the way.
