Clonlara is an independent K12 school in Ann Arbor, Michigan. We believe in putting students in the center of their own learning through their strengths, talents, interests, and curiosities. Through hands&nbsp;projects and play, students gain communication and leadership skills they can adapt to the real world. We encourage students to take on challenges and discover new ideas by exploring and inventing, and putting these new ideas into action where learning takes place.\n<\/div>\n<div>\n\t&nbsp;\n<\/div>\n<div>\n\tThe ideal candidate will have these minimum qualifications:\n<\/div>\n<ul>\n<li>\n\t\tBachelor&#39;s Degree in Elementary Education.\n\t<\/li>\n<li>\n\t\tPrevious teaching experience in the classroom.\n\t<\/li>\n<li>\n\t\tPreference will be given to the candidate who also has the following qualifications:\n\t<\/li>\n<li>\n\t\tExperience teaching in a project based, student centered, or play based setting.\n\t<\/li>\n<li>\n\t\tExperience teaching in a multi-age classroom.\n\t<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<div>\n\tThe K5teacher has the following core responsibilities:\n<\/div>\n<ul>\n<li>\n\t\tSets up classroom environment to stimulate play while being conducive to learning.\n\t<\/li>\n<li>\n\t\tBe an active and engaged participant with the students.\n\t<\/li>\n<li>\n\t\tCreate individualized plans based on student needs.\n\t<\/li>\n<li>\n\t\tPlan specific activities that extend learning into the domains of math, language and literacy, science, and social studies.\n\t<\/li>\n<li>\n\t\tFacilitate, mentor, and support each student with planning projects and other tasks.\n\t<\/li>\n<li>\n\t\tCreate time in daily for discussion and reflection on shared and individual projects and tasks.\n\t<\/li>\n<li>\n\t\tCoach necessary social skills.\n\t<\/li>\n<li>\n\t\tAssess student progress throughout year and record through quarterly and semester evaluations.\n\t<\/li>\n<li>\n\t\tMaintain constructive communication with parents as often as needed.\n\t<\/li>\n<li>\n\t\tWork collaboratively with a team of teachers.\n\t<\/li>\n<li>\n\t\tFoster community by developing events and programs with the school as a whole.\n\t<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Clonlara School is seeking a fulltime K5 teacher for the Younger&rsquo;s program for the 2016\/2017 year.
