\n\tWhat if there was one ingenious story that could help us raise our children and strengthen our communities? Would you want to know what that story is? <\/font><\/font>\n<\/p>\n

\n\tIt’s <\/font><\/font>our<\/i><\/font><\/font> shared sacred story of “Youth & Community Development through Rites of Passage.” It’s a story that many people around the world, along with Dr. David Blumenkrantz<\/a> have helped “emerge” – in service to our children, within diverse cultures and communities around the world. <\/font><\/font>\n<\/p>\n

\n\tPERMIE KIDs in partnership with the Center for Youth & Community invite you to join other educators, parents, and community elders from around the world for our Electronic Campfire<\/a> <\/font><\/font>series <\/font><\/font>beginning the week of September 21, 2015. <\/font><\/font><\/font>Our conversations around the campfire are designed for people who desire a better story and want to take action to improve the lives of children and strengthen their community.<\/font><\/font>\n<\/p>\n

\n\tComing of age within a community “story” of initiation & rites of passage honors the central developmental task of adolescents – finding identity, meaning and purpose and a search for their authentic spiritual self. This is more than an individual experience. Community-oriented rites of passage are the public unification of secular and spiritual practices that affirm an individual’s transition while creating the conditions for an emerging adult to feel a sense of meaning & connection with their community, culture, nature and self.<\/font><\/font>\n<\/p>\n

\n\tLearn more about what the <\/font><\/font><\/font>Rite <\/i><\/font><\/font><\/font>story can do.<\/font><\/font><\/font> Join us to learn the language for the story of <\/font><\/font>youth and community development through rites of passage<\/i><\/font><\/font>. <\/font><\/font>This experience is for those who want to learn the history, language, and current relevance of youth and community development through rites of passage as both a method for organizing and strengthen a community and a process for educating and guiding children to adulthood. It focuses on the formation of a core group of older youth and adults in their community who co-create rites of passage experience relevant to their community and culture.<\/font><\/font>\n<\/p>\n

\n\tBecome part of a global village<\/a> to support raising our children and help write a story that can change the future for our children and the planet. Education is our greatest potential resource for nourishing life.<\/font><\/font>\n<\/p>\n
