{"id":7033,"date":"2015-01-24T16:23:31","date_gmt":"2015-01-24T21:23:31","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.educationrevolution.org\/store\/?p=7033"},"modified":"2015-01-24T16:25:32","modified_gmt":"2015-01-24T21:25:32","slug":"educator-of-the-year-award","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.educationrevolution.org\/store\/educator-of-the-year-award\/","title":{"rendered":"Educator of the Year Award"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>\n\t<font color=\"black\" face=\"Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif\"><font>The <a href=\"http:\/\/smallschoolscoalition.com\/\" target=\"_blank\">Small Schools Coalition<\/a> is providing an opportunity to recognize <span>educators<\/span> working in schools of 250 students or less through the first annual <b>Small Schools <span>Educator<\/span> of the <span>Year<\/span> <span>Award<\/span>. <\/b><\/font><\/font>\n<\/p>\n<p>\n\t&nbsp;\n<\/p>\n<p>\n\t<strong>2014-15 First Annual Small Schools Educator of the Year<\/strong>\n<\/p>\n<p>\n\tPresented by The Small Schools Coalition\n<\/p>\n<p>\n\t&nbsp;\n<\/p>\n<p>\n\tThe Small Schools Coalition was founded in 2012 to advance and disseminate information on the design features and benefits of small schools, and to give voice to small schools educators. To recognize an educator in any school with an enrollment of less than 250 students that takes advantage of the small schools model, in order to maximize the teaching and learning opportunities created in their classroom.\n<\/p>\n<p>\n\t&nbsp;\n<\/p>\n<p>\n\t<strong>Benefits of the award:<\/strong>\n<\/p>\n<p>\n\t&bull; $200 will be awarded to the deserving small school educator\n<\/p>\n<p>\n\t&bull; Publication and formal acknowledgement of winner and top two runners-up\n<\/p>\n<p>\n\t&nbsp;\n<\/p>\n<p>\n\t<strong>How to nominate an educator:<\/strong>\n<\/p>\n<p>\n\tNominations for consideration may come from educators, administrators, parents, and students. An educator must have at least one nomination to be considered. The nomination must include a letter that responds to the questions below, which will identify how this teacher, administrator, or leader has utilized the benefits of a small school to enhance the academic and relationship-based experiences of students. A photograph of the educator with students is also required. Winners will be announced in early April.\n<\/p>\n<p>\n\t&nbsp;\n<\/p>\n<p>\n\t<strong>Nomination deadline: Monday, March 6, 2015<\/strong>\n<\/p>\n<p>\n\t<em>(please direct nominations and\/or questions electronically to aliciarosenberg@grauerschool.com)<\/em>\n<\/p>\n<p>\n\t&nbsp;\n<\/p>\n<p>\n\t<strong>Eligibility:<\/strong> Teachers who teach grades K-12 in an SSC member school. Teachers who anticipate a classroom teaching assignment for the following year in a member school.\n<\/p>\n<p>\n\t&nbsp;\n<\/p>\n<p>\n\t<font color=\"black\" face=\"Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif\"><font><span style=\"font-family:Arial\">Nominations are simple. One simply needs to write a letter explaining why the nominee is deserving of recognition.
