{"id":6804,"date":"2014-11-30T21:48:27","date_gmt":"2014-12-01T02:48:27","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.educationrevolution.org\/store\/?p=6804"},"modified":"2014-11-30T21:48:47","modified_gmt":"2014-12-01T02:48:47","slug":"job-42","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.educationrevolution.org\/store\/job-42\/","title":{"rendered":"Mountain Sun Community School in Brevard, NC is seeking an Executive Director"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>\n\t<strong>Mountain Sun&nbsp; Community School in Brevard, NC is seeking an Executive Director to represent<\/strong>\n<\/p>\n<p>\n\t<strong>its mission through leadership of the organization in administrative, business, and educational<\/strong>\n<\/p>\n<p>\n\t<strong>processes.<\/strong>\n<\/p>\n<p>\n\t&nbsp;\n<\/p>\n<p>\n\tExecutive Director responsibilities include, but are not limited to:\n<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>\n\t\tFaculty and staff management and supervision, program and curricular support, professional development and training.\n\t<\/li>\n<li>\n\t\tWorking closely with an active Board of Trustees in developing the annual budget, long range planning, and management of finances.\n\t<\/li>\n<li>\n\t\tStudent recruitment, admissions, and retention.\n\t<\/li>\n<li>\n\t\tCollaboration with parents to assure the school is doing everything possible to meet the needs of the Whole Child.\n\t<\/li>\n<li>\n\t\tDevelopment and implementation of a fundraising strategy, cultivation of a donor support base, development and maintenance of public relations, outreach and marketing.\n\t<\/li>\n<li>\n\t\tOversight of the relocation of Mountain Sun from our current leased campus to a new leased location.\n\t<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>\n\t&nbsp;\n<\/p>\n<p>\n\tMountain Sun Community School is a non-profit, independent, private school serving 60-70\n<\/p>\n<p>\n\tchildren from pre-K through 8th grade.&nbsp; We opened our doors to students in August 2008 in the\n<\/p>\n<p>\n\tbeautiful Blue Ridge mountain town of Brevard, NC.&nbsp; (www.cityofbrevard.com)&nbsp; The school was\n<\/p>\n<p>\n\tformed as a parent-driven effort to create a holistic community school integrating the best in\n<\/p>\n<p>\n\teducational pedagogies, with a strong emphasis on Montessori, Waldorf, and Howard\n<\/p>\n<p>\n\tGardner&rsquo;s Multiple Intelligence Theories.&nbsp; Mountain Sun Community School&rsquo;s mission is to\n<\/p>\n<p>\n\tcultivate each student&rsquo;s natural curiosity and love of learning through a challenging academic\n<\/p>\n<p>\n\tcurriculum grounded in mutual respect and a sense of belonging.
