We seek applicants who have experience working with youth ages 5 to 18 years old, and who are interested in working with them in a democratic and holistic environment. The school is located in Portland, Oregon. Interns are paid a monthly stipend of $250; internship positions are estimated to begin Monday, August 25, 2014 and conclude June 19, 2015.&nbsp;\n<\/p>\n<p>\n\t<strong>General Expectations for Interns:<\/strong>\n<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>\n\t\tShow flexibility and creativity.\n\t<\/li>\n<li>\n\t\tCreate a welcoming environment for students.\n\t<\/li>\n<li>\n\t\tCollaborate with Program Directors to create a personalized learning plan.\n\t<\/li>\n<li>\n\t\tWork collaboratively and cooperatively with students, parents, staff, and council.\n\t<\/li>\n<li>\n\t\tHelp identify and assist in resolving interpersonal conflicts.\n\t<\/li>\n<li>\n\t\tAttend one weekly staff meeting.\n\t<\/li>\n<li>\n\t\tDemonstrate courage in providing appropriate boundaries, trust, and support to people of&nbsp;all ages within a non-coercive learning environment.\n\t<\/li>\n<li>\n\t\tDemonstrate self-care and hold &ldquo;gracious space&rdquo; for yourself and others.\n\t<\/li>\n<li>\n\t\tUtilize effective nonverbal, verbal, and written communication skills.\n\t<\/li>\n<li>\n\t\tProvide at least one weekly offering, or lead in at least one special project area, for\/with students\n\t<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>\n\t<strong>To Apply:<\/strong>\n<\/p>\n<p>\n\t<span style=\"line-height: 1.6em;\">Submit a cover letter, current resume, three references, and any additional information you think we should consider in evaluating you as a candidate.<\/span>\n<\/p>\n<p>\n\t<span style=\"line-height: 1.6em;\">Applications must be sent to <a href=\"mailto:info@villagefreeschool.org\" target=\"_blank\">info@villagefreeschool.org<\/a><\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The Village Free School is now accepting applications for two part-time Interns for the 2014-2015 school year.
