This position requires someone with teaching experience, preferably in an alternative school environment, and a creative, flexible and open-minded approach to teaching and learning. This is a full-time position.<\/p>\n<p>Responsibilities include but are not limited to:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Design STEAM-based learning opportunities for all ages (K-5) that compliment an established math curriculum and also work in the context of a broader emergent pedagogy.<\/li>\n<li>Work with the Director of Programming and other teaching staff on the design and implementation of all learning projects.<\/li>\n<li>Manage a small classroom of mixed-age and mixed-ability students.<\/li>\n<li>Participate and draw inspiration from extensive community-based learning opportunities, field trips and community service activities.<\/li>\n<li>Document student progress through student portfolios, photography\/film\/audio, teacher-notes, art, reflection and other non-testing forms of assessment.<\/li>\n<li>Facilitate learning in all aspects of student growth: social, emotional, and intellectual.<\/li>\n<li>Be accountable for adapting as needed to effectively teach, learn and grow as a professional educator.<\/li>\n<li>Engage with student families, school staff and administrators, community partners, and a board of directors.<\/li>\n<li>Must a possess a passion for learning and teaching, and enthusiasm for creating and implementing math and science curricula.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Salary is competitive.<\/p>\n<p>www.wolfhillscommunityschool. org<\/p>\n<p>Resumes and Letters of Interest may be sent to Lori Pennington, Program Director, Wolf Hills Community School at: lori.whhs@gmail.com<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>STEAM Facilitator Position Wolf Hills Community School, a small, community-based, non-profit K-5 school in Abingdon, VA seeks a passionate educator to design and lead a STEAM-based curriculum component in our dynamic multi-age learning environment.
