The ideal Director will work collaboratively with the Board of Directors, Teaching Team and Support Staff to provide the best possible learning experience for our students, have experience in Nonprofit Business Management, and be dedicated to the collaborative environment at our school. The Director must have knowledge of progressive educational theory and have the business skills to manage the administrative, operational, and financial needs of the school. &nbsp;Additionally, we seek a candidate who will support and enhance the school&rsquo;s culture of compassion and mindfulness, grow our educational commitment to nature based learning, emergent curricula, arts education, and bring in new ideas and approaches that are consistent with the school&rsquo;s mission and philosophy.\n<\/p>\n<p>\n\t<b>Requirements<\/b>\n<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>\n<p>\n\t\t\tMaster&rsquo;s degree or higher in Education (or related field). &nbsp;Nonprofit management and fundraising experience a strong plus.\n\t\t<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p>\n\t\t\tExperience operating and managing all aspects of a school, including budgeting and fiscal oversight, education and professional development, marketing and communications.\n\t\t<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p>\n\t\t\tPrevious classroom teaching experience.\n\t\t<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p>\n\t\t\tUnderstanding of, and commitment to, a leadership model that emphasizes collaboration, cooperation, respect, flexibility, and creativity.\n\t\t<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p>\n\t\t\tDemonstrated written and oral communication expertise and problem solving skills, including the ability to maintain composure under stress.\n\t\t<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p>\n\t\t\tStrong organizational and time management skills. &nbsp;Ability to multi-task and gracefully manage the demands of a fast-paced environment.\n\t\t<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p>\n\t\t\tExhibit a calm and loving presence to children, staff, and community.\n\t\t<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>\n\t<u><b>About Mountain Road School<\/b><\/u>\n<\/p>\n<p>\n\tMountain Road School is a small, independent school located on a 20 acre campus in New Lebanon, New York. &nbsp;Founded in 1975, Mountain Road offers a progressive education, multi-aged classrooms, and a focus on nature based learning for children preschool through eighth grade.\n<\/p>\n<p>\n\t&nbsp;\n<\/p>\n<p>\n\t<b>Mission<\/b>\n<\/p>\n<p>\n\tMountain Road School supports, challenges and empowers the whole child within a loving and collaborative community of parents, teachers and students.\n<\/p>\n<p>\n\tA Mountain Road education fosters academic and creative excellence, ethical and spiritual development, engagement with the world, and creates a foundation for lifelong learning.\n<\/p>\n<p>\n\t&nbsp;\n<\/p>\n<p>\n\t<b>Philosophy<\/b>\n<\/p>\n<p>\n\tAt Mountain Road School we celebrate and create opportunities for vibrant learning.
