Job Title: Teacher/Teacher’s Aide
Job description/responsibilities: To assist in daily activities of the including opening/closing, meal preparation, administrative duties, general cleaning, organizing, and attending meetings. To support K-12 grade students in academic, social and emotional growth through advising, teaching and tutoring students in our unique democratic environment.
Required Qualifications: 4 year degree (preferred), direct experience with diverse youth and collective process or democratic education. A driver’s license and teacher’s license is not required but one or both is a plus! Background check, 3 references, and a one year commitment are also required.
Qualities we are looking for in candidates: Fun, reliable, flexible, open, caring, compassionate, patient, able to “let go” of adult privilege, supportive of GDS mission and adult/youth partnerships
Pay rate: $12.00/hourly
Hours: 4 hours per day, weekdays (M-F) x 4 weeks per month, August-June. Hours are somewhat flexible, to be scheduled between 9:00am and 5:00pm. Morning availability preferred.
Location: Uptown/Lowry Hill, near downtown Minneapolis
