Pono Seeking Full Time Early Childhood Educator

Pono, an independent, democratic, and outdoor center in Manhattan, New York, is currently seeking to fill an Early Childhood position starting in July 2017 (or earlier).

We are looking for candidates who have experience teaching children ages 2 – 6. Candidates with background in democratic education, special education, music, movement, mathematics, humane education, or who speak a foreign language (Arabic, Spanish, or Japanese) are encouraged to apply.

Pono Seeking Part-Time Literacy Educator and Math Educator

Pono, an independent, democratic, and outdoor center in Manhattan, New York City, is currently looking to fill a part-time literacy position and a part-time math position starting in July 2017.

Literacy Position: Background in Literacy Education (reading/writing) and experience teaching literacy in higher elementary and/or middle school grades is required. General responsibilities include designing an innovative literacy curriculum and leading literacy lessons for children ages 8 – 11.

Math Position: Background in Mathematics Education and experience teaching Math is required. General responsibilities include designing an innovative math curriculum and leading math lessons for children ages 6 – 11.

Candidates with a background in democratic education and/or special education are encouraged to apply.
