The Antioch School Has Student Openings

The Antioch School has student openings availible. For information about the school, registration, and openings, and to make appointments to visit the school or to speak with other staff, contact MJ Richlen, School Manager, at 937-767-7642 or mj@antiochschool.org.

The Antioch School is one of the oldest alternative schools in the country.

It was founded in 1921 by Arthur Morgan, then president of Antioch College. It has been independent of Antioch College since 1979, but still retains ties with the College.

The Antioch School offers child-centered programs for nursery, kindergarten, and traditional grade school ages in mixed-age groups, the Younger Group, and the Older Group.

The school is run by the teachers, a school manager, parents and a Board of Directors.

It is a place in which children are encouraged to pursue their innate curiosity wherever, and as far as, their abilities can take them. Children are encouraged to take the next step, to risk, to make mistakes and to try again as they find their own unique ways of learning. Through example and direct experience, children learn self-discipline, self-direction, value setting, and the relationship between choice and consequence.

The Antioch School is a place where childhood is respected and children are enjoyed.
